Your Sweetheart

I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together. ― Marilyn Monroe

And I'm just a shadow of your thoughts.

THAILAND BANGKOK
13-17 September 2014
5D4N at Center Point Pratunam Hotel

Day 1
Back from Batam and only had less than a day of rest and bam, flight at 6pm. But thank god it was an evening flight. Thanks to Fiora's family who came to pick kwan and I up yay.

ya no joke really sick i tell you. NEVER HAVE TWO FLIGHTS IN A ROW

Haha Kwan and I brought a little too much things to Bangkok but luckily we didn't exceed our given luggage weight. But what everybody says, don't bring so much clothes there because you can buy and wear there itself which is...... true.

So for this trip I was just tagging along hehe with Kwan, Fiora, Fiora's mum, Fiora's sis, Nicole and Nicole's Godma.

 AND CHECKING IN!

The things that got confiscated :-( I didn't know about volume thing because it was only my 2nd time going on a plane???????

Hehe i tell you excited already that's why every step of the plane also must take :-)

And before I forget to mention this, Scoot planes are VERY UNCOMFORTABLE MY GOD. I thought I could adjust myself to get comfy a little because it's only 2hours? But NO, the seats were so hard, my butt bone was aching. My legs had no where to rest. And argh just very uncomfortable, bad bad bad 2nd plane experience. Both trips, from singapore and to singapore.

Previously the 1st time I took a budget one too, Jetstar I think, but that one wasn't too bad. This one was terrible :-(

sorry not professional enough for a window shoot

took a nap on the very uncomfortable plane ride and snap, it's dark already

Nothing much just sick kirstie who was coughing and sneezing away, sick throughout the trip too but thank god Fiora's mum and sis brought quite a lot of medication which helped me a little.

Touch down at Thailand!!!! We had to wait quite awhile to get through thailand immigration due to the long queue, around 40mins I guess.

And bought the SIM card there for s$16 which has free data and calling.

And FINALLY took a cab to the hotel which was quite terrifying because you have no idea what are they speaking so = no trust lol. At least in Batam they will try to speak english for you, here nope, as if we understand.

Like I mentioned on top, we stayed in Centre Point Hotel Pratunam which was also near the famous Baiyoke Sky Hotel.

Okay I shall explain why this photo of this toilet bowl, so it's cool and you don't see it in singapore (well i don't) Kwan went to the cubicle next door and we were like 'ok 1,2,3 press' so we tried each buttons tgt haha seating on it of course because the water will just spray onto your face if you don't

The hotel lobby which was nice

Their smoking area and also cab waiting area, very cozy and 'holiday feel'

kiddos while the adults do the job of checking in

The hallways of the rooms, so quite creepy I guess

And after the long wait, yay the hotel

creepy toilet which i don't wish to explain

very small balcony to smoke

Off to a nearby food place for late dinner because it was already 11plus and the stalls are mostly closed. Long long wait for food but it was not bad :-)

Walked around the streets nearby, there's seafood too which was quite popular I guess, a lot of singaporeans though

Early night and off to bed because chatuchak in the morning!!!!!!!!!! And bloody hell, because of my very bad cough I had a very bad night of sleeping.

Day 2
Rise and shine at 7am!!!!!!!!! Tired but excited lor!!!! Because chatuchak only opens in the weekends :-(

followed advise from the others to bring a bag so we don't have to carry alot of plastic bags, but unfortunately it's not big enough haha

Out at 8am to eat the famous wanton mee which was located near the Pratunam morning market, but it only opens at 9am so we went for a walk at the morning market first, alot of clothes but also alot like Bugis though.

The sign board but i don't think we understand

Yup and the shop haven't open, there's a queue already and proud to be a ks singaporean we were the first to queue heheheheheh

The crowd was mostly singaporeans though, the staffs inside know chinese too

And in we went. Don't really like the service though because it was so kan chiong and rush rush rush. But you're just suppose to tell them how many dry and how many soup wanton mee you want. Order the drinks separately from another staff, cause there's a drink boy who only orders drinks. The chrysanthemum tea is not bad, sweet and refreshing.

The serving looks small and pathetic but it's okay really quite filling for breakfast! The soup wanton looks much more worth though haha. But both has a different taste to it, the dry one I think they use pork oil instead of black sauce, the soup was so so just not dry I guess. But the wanton is gooooooooooood :-P

And the last one, their pork plate which was really good!!!!!!!! Should try and it's s$12.

So we ordered a total of 10 plates of wanton mee, 1 pork plate and 6 drinks for a total of 960batt = S$38.40. Which is cheap because usually 1 plate of wanton mee is $3-4 so yay

And taxi to chatuchak!!!! Funny how I'm scared of the taxi drivers but we still keep taking them because it's cheap!!! (if you know how to bargain)

Map of chatuchak but I'm a sucker for roads

We bought this bigass bag to store all our clothes :-)

Had wonton mee for lunch at some food stall by the road, so so only. Try the yong tou foo there though because I heard it's nice

Must try in chatuchak!!!!!!!!! Their coconut ice cream, i cannot differentiate the 'fake' and 'real' one though, but it's really good hehe comes with a free coconut drink too.

And after walking for 6hrs under hot hot sun........... I FUCKING LOVE CHATUCHAK!!!!!!!!! But another tip for shopping at BKK, you can never live without shades because the sun is crazy.

Oh and another thing, I was rather sad when I left that place because I wanted to get dreadlocks there but we couldn't find the stall....... And maybe it wasn't at chatuchak also but at Khao san which was what the internet said. And if I'm doing them in sg they will cost s$600 unless someone has some lobang or sth.

We got out of there by 3-4pm because the sun is wayyyyy too extreme. (And I am not exaggerating at all) Cabbed back to the hotel to put our staff and play dress up!

fav shirt fav buy hehe

bought new wood plugs yayyyyy

same same, oversized shirt, sunglasses, our sling bag and lighter pouch yay

our new shades for freaking 39batt = S$1.56 damn coming to think of it I should have bought more

I WAS RED, had my burn in Batam but come here also wahlao

Had this crepe which was niceeeeeeee :-) we had ham, crabmeat and pork floss inside.

Walked around looking for dinner but plans ruined because it rained........... :-( so tabao to hotel and eat lor. So we had a very chill and easy night I guess.

shark fin yummy

We were going to.......... buy food in the rain hehehe

I want this back :-(

same thai food for dinner that night

And mango sticky rice!! Which..... I should have took a photo before kwan poured the sauce......

Day 3
Out at 6am in the morning, off to Pratunam morning market, so early because duh morning market I think they open at 5am-12pm?

Nothing much there (for me) but A L O T of clothes, just not much variety from what I feel because the shops are mostly selling the same things. I'm blinded by chatuchak, forever my #1 shopping place!!!!!!! But be sure to buy their denim at morning markets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

water for sickgal

And breakfast :-) Wasn't staying at Baiyoke sky hotel but went there for their breakfast which was recommended by Fiora!

Never getting tired of watermelon ice blend hehe

Tried their lobster bisque there which was not bad, I think
can compete with Saybones and Jack's place hehe

Who doesn't want to leave bkk drinks up yep

Had a super heavy breakfast of carbonara and full gal is a happy gal but tired gal too because i might not be a gal but a pig oink ok whatever

Their chicken wrapped in pandan leaf, smell only saliva can drop already

3 of them had the classic Egg Benedict

Back to the hotel to nua and had a short nap with only a few hours of sleep :-(

And off to Siam area! Siam area is pretty big and they have a lot of big malls but they're all kind of expensive. Like the chain stores, H&M and Topshop they are more expensive there. BUT SHOP AT NARAYA, Aunties might go there yes BUT you can find a lot of cute stuff too, like pouches, handbags, mirrors, and even tissue cases!!!!

Was so tempted to try the local food stalls but we were gonna have lunch :-(

Main point of Siam area was their MK restaurant hehe, it's cheap there

MAIN MAIN POINT: EAT THE DUCK!!!!!!!!!!! GOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!! Like a serious, MUST TRY. GO TRY. GO EAT. And their watermelon ice blend too hehe

Their duck noodles which was super good too, the green noodles are yumz

so cutie haha

I think this is my awkward face

Off to the other malls in Siam area

ok maybe this is my awkward face

shou qian shou wo men yi qi zou

kwan trying to show off her hair

And bra hunting which I didn't get any because nah you wouldn't want to know

And some cheap shopping to do so off to Victory Monument for night market!!! MRTed there and it was crowded as hell my god, probably their peak hour. Before that we went to another night market at Siam but we were unlucky because it was closed on Mondays, just mondays and it opens everyday, suay or what.

Waffle break hehe

IM READY IM READY IM READY IM READY

My soles were aching BUT KIRSTIE SHOPPING IS THE PRIORITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My big bag was full and heavy so another bag which went full hehe happy happy happy so happy

Dinner at some steamboat/mookata. Quite a dirty place (oops) but the food is not bad!

The actually use the oil from the meat to flavourize the soup if 'flavourize' is a word

Also quite popular to the locals but I don't really have the address or what so, so I don't think how are you gonna find it.....

And back to the hotel for some poker cards and k.o

Day 4
Off to Union Mall in the morning! Or afternooon I forgot haha.

kind of miss this

Told ya never ever getting bored of watermelon juice

Lunch at Union Mall too which was good thai food :-) Argh and yes, we literally have tom yum soup for all our meals and nope, I am not sick of it!!!!!

Union Mall is a great place to shop too! A huge variety compared to the morning/night markets! There's a lot of levels, and all filled with shops, so you don't have to worry about not finding any clothes there, you have to just worry about whether is there enough time for you to complete the whole mall because it's so big!!!!!! Personally, I love the top floor, level 5 if I'm not wrong because it's more of a old school vintage type of clothing (more expensive though but i swear it's worth it as most pieces are 1 of a kind)

crazy one kwan got green tea ice cream still want green tea bubble tea

Kwan and I are mostly outside because we were limiting ourselves not to spend too much there because the clothes are more expensive than the markets and we were afraid we won't have enough cash haha

And damn, it rained again. Every single evening. We were walking through this market which was still opening then the wind came, I swear it was like a fucking typhoon.

Fiora and I bought rain boots hehe I cannot wait to wear out next time because I'm just stomping my way through with these boots but cb singapore never rain one

We cabbed to the Pratunam night market which was near our hotel too. Cheap cheap cheap what else can I say. Went back to the hotel to drop our stuff and off for dinner!!!!! Thank god the rain stopped

silly bao aiyo

Cabbed to China town for seafood dinner!

we look drunk lol ahahahah

Prawns but.... i think haibin prawns nicer with the chilli no joke

We ordered quite a lot but I didn't manage to take all of them. But for the dinner it was so so only? (my opinion) The price there was normal also so not worth the trip down to China town lor, but there's a lot of mei shi (hometown food) like dried snacks that you can get there. Bought some snacks there for daddy and mummy too

And to Siam night market to shop (the one that we went on Monday but was closed) and the taxi driver was nice enough to let all the 7 of us squeeze in one cab hehe. So 5 at the back at 2 infront (excluding the driver)

Back to hotel because it was a long day I guess, went to the massage parlor nearby our hotel, well they went for massage but I went for mani pedi because I don't like massage???? Kwan's friends, Samuel, Chia wee and Dion came to join us too because they were also in Bkk staying near our hotel!

Yup I wanted to try bugs heheheh so here goes, grasshopper and worms (slurp)

I really ate them okay!!!! Some of you might find it gross (like my stupid bf) but at least I dared to try it hmph. The grasshopper tasted like oil crackers which was not bad, I thought it was going to taste bitter at some parts but it wasn't!!! The worms tasted like vegetable haha, oily vege of course. Should try!!! I didn't have tummyache or anything ok!!

Off to Bayiok Botique (another hotel) for cards session and survived a day without sleep!

And at 5-6am in the morning, 'don't fuck with me' was written on all our faces haha. We went to Pratunam morning market straight after we left the boys hotel because it was on the way too, but the shopping was horrible probably because it was our 2nd time there so it was boring and all of us just wanna get back to out hotel and have a nice cold bath.

Day 5
Packed our luggages and time to check out!!! Sad sad sad but was a little home sick too

Today our plan was only at Platinum mall, so lunch there and our last shopping. Advice for shopping on last day: Just spend only, if you see sth that you like just buy it down, don't think that you'll be able to u-turn back if you change your mind because you'll get lost. But also, what do I know la cause I'm a sucker when it comes to money.

The A&W there was horrible :-( Batam batam I want you back

Tried their basil pork street food hehe yummy, don't be afraid to try their food stalls along the road (at most tummyache only mah hehe oops)

So Kwan and I were broke, just enough money for cab fare to airport, which brings me to my final experience for taking a taxi in Bkk: SHITTY. This was the WORST, because from our hotel to the airport was a highway away. So when it comes to bargaining and having to hire 3 cabs to fetch all of us and our luggages we had a really hard time hailing them. The taxi drivers were all so money minded and some very very stingy (ok i know they have like a family to support but really too much) But in the end, yeah we got the taxis with somewhat our wanted price with a little of a give and take lor.

And yay airport!!!! Wasn't really dreading to leave this place because not being home for 9 days and the people here just makes me wanna go back to my hometown :-(

Don't eat the thai food at Don Muang Airport, well at least don't eat the pineapple rice, it's horrible.

The lovely gals which I enjoyed my shopping with them very much :-) Thanks for the trip too babes!

Sawadika Thailand, see you again next time!

And DONE! My 5D4N trip in BKK :-)

So if you guys are wondering how much did Kwan and I spent......... (In SGD)

Airplane ticket (2 ways) $167 each
Hotel (the whole of 5d4n) $114 each
Shopping S$342 = 8,570batt ---------------------- mummy gave us in batt
USD200 = 6,360batt (rate 31.8) ------- mummy gave us in USD so we had to
USD300 = 9,558batt (rate 31.86)           change there (some of the money changer
                  USD100 = 3,210batt (rate 32.1)               they require you to bring IC/passport)

Which equals to total of shopping+food we spent 27,698batt = SGD$1,107.92 for BOTH of us haha just letting you guys know (idk if it's unnecessary but oh well)

Okay I'm done here ciao

xx
